These terms govern your use of the Tallowmark website and your participation in our educational programmes. Please read them carefully. Last updated: 1 January 2025.

1. About Tallowmark

Tallowmark is a family education provider located at 45 Lebuh Pantai, 10300 George Town, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia. We offer structured educational workshops and programmes on estate document organisation, legacy conversations, and household planning for Malaysian families.

Tallowmark is not a law firm, financial advisory firm, medical practice, or licensed professional services provider. Nothing in our programmes, materials, or website constitutes legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice. Participants are encouraged to consult appropriately licensed professionals for any such matters.


2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing this website or registering for any Tallowmark programme, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or register for our programmes.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the website or participation in programmes after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.


3. Educational Nature of Our Programmes

All Tallowmark programmes β€” including Putting Your Papers In Order, Family Conversations About Legacy, and The Family Archive Programme β€” are educational in nature. They are designed to help families build awareness, organise household information, and develop frameworks for conversation.

  • We do not draft, review, or advise on any legal instrument, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, or estate plans.
  • We do not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or wealth planning services.
  • We do not provide medical, health, or psychological advice or support.
  • Facilitators and staff are not acting as lawyers, financial advisers, or medical practitioners, regardless of their personal professional background.

Any decisions you make following participation in our programmes are made at your own discretion. We encourage you to consult a licensed professional before acting on any matter that falls within a regulated domain.


4. Registration and Eligibility

Our programmes are designed for adults aged 18 and above. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

Programme registration is confirmed upon receipt of payment in full. Places are limited and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. We reserve the right to decline a registration at our discretion, in which case any payment received will be refunded in full.

Registration information must be accurate and complete. If any information provided proves to be false or misleading, Tallowmark reserves the right to withdraw participation without refund.


5. Fees, Payment, and Cancellation

Programme fees are as published on the Tallowmark website at the time of registration. Fees are stated in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are inclusive of all materials and sessions described in each programme description.

Payment: Full payment is required to confirm a place. Accepted payment methods will be communicated at the point of registration. Receipts are issued upon confirmation.

Cancellation by the participant:

  • Cancellations made 14 or more days before the programme start date: full refund, less any applicable bank transfer or processing charges.
  • Cancellations made 7–13 days before the programme start date: 50% refund.
  • Cancellations made fewer than 7 days before the programme start date: no refund. A credit towards a future programme date may be offered at our discretion.
  • Non-attendance without prior notice: no refund or credit.

Cancellation by Tallowmark: If we cancel or postpone a programme, registered participants will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to an alternative date. We are not liable for any consequential costs incurred by participants as a result of a Tallowmark cancellation.


6. Programme Conduct

We ask all participants to engage respectfully with facilitators and fellow participants. Tallowmark reserves the right to ask any participant who behaves in a manner that is disruptive, offensive, or harmful to others to leave a session. In such cases, no refund will be issued.

Recordings, photographs, or video of live sessions may not be made without prior written consent from Tallowmark. We will notify participants when any recording is being made by us for internal review or training purposes.


7. Materials and Intellectual Property

All content provided to participants during programmes β€” including printed workbooks, conversation decks, archive binders, templates, and digital materials β€” is for the personal use of registered participants only. These materials may not be reproduced, shared commercially, or distributed without written permission from Tallowmark.

All content on the Tallowmark website, including text, graphics, and programme descriptions, is the property of Tallowmark or its content licensors and is protected under applicable Malaysian intellectual property law.


8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Tallowmark's liability to any participant or website user is limited to the programme fees paid for the specific programme in question.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from participation in our programmes or use of our website. This includes, without limitation, any decisions made by a participant following an educational session.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.


9. Website Use

You may use the Tallowmark website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

  • Use the website in any way that is unlawful or harmful
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its underlying systems
  • Transmit any unsolicited or harmful material
  • Reproduce, copy, or redistribute website content without our written permission

We make reasonable efforts to ensure the website is available and accurate but do not warrant that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or up to date at all times.


10. Privacy

The collection and use of personal data in connection with this website and our programmes is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms and Conditions.


11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
